This was RG kit #5 and while it’s the least gimmicky out of the ones I’ve built, it’s probably the most solid RG I’ve done so far. There’s something about that classic tanky-brick design that has aged remarkably well, and the fact that the PG, MG and RG all have the same proportions are just a testament to this timeless design.
Painting
Paints listed are Gunze Mr Hobby Acrylics.
Greyish White – Base coat Neutral Grey (100%), followed by White (70%) + Neutral Grey (30%) for highlights.
Dark Greyish White – Base coat Neutral Grey (100%), followed by White (30%) + Neutral Grey (70%) for highlights.
Blue – Bright Blue (45%) + Black (25%) + White (15%) + Red (15%). White is added in to the mixture for highlights.
Red – Base coat of black (100%), followed by White (100%) post shade. A coat of Shine Red (100%) is then applied. White and some yellow is added into the mixture for highlights.
Yellow – Orange (100%) base coat, followed by White (100%) post shade. A coat of Orange Yellow (60%) + Yellow (40%) is then applied. White is added into the mixture for highlights.
Grey – Neutral Grey (70%) + Black (30%) base coat, followed by Neutral Grey (90%) + Black (10%) for shading.
